Following Labor’s election win, the Federal Battery Rebate Program has been confirmed and is set to begin on July 1st. This initiative will provide eligible homeowners with rebates of approximately $350 per kW.
Some examples of potential savings:
- 32 kWh Sigenergy system (3-phase) – Approximate rebate: $11,200
- 13.5 kWh Tesla Powerwall (single-phase) – Approximate rebate: $4,750
We’re reaching out to explain the approved process for claiming this rebate — and to highlight why timing is critical.
How the Battery Rebate Process Works
To be eligible for the rebate:
- Battery systems can be installed now, but
- They must not be commissioned (switched on) until on or after July 1st
This approach has been formally approved, allowing homeowners to act early — without missing out on the rebate.
Why Acting Now Matters
There are two major supply challenges that make timing essential:
- Battery stock is limited in Australia. With high demand, manufacturers are expected to run out quickly.
- Installers are booking out rapidly. Many are already scheduling jobs several months in advance.
Our Recommendation
To avoid missing out, we recommend the following steps:
- Request a system design and quote now (even if you’re still considering your options)
- Reserve your installation date and battery stock with a deposit.
- We install your system prior to July 1st, then commission it on or after July 1st to ensure rebate eligibility
If you’d like to discuss options or get a personalised quote, now is the best time.
